IELTS exam format
IELTS test is divided into four modules: writing, reading, listening and speaking. Out of these four modules, three modules writing, reading and listening are conducted on the same day while speaking is conducted either before or after. IELTS exam is divided into two parts: academic and general.

Writing

In academic writing, again there are two tasks. In task 1 students have to write 150 words about line charts, maps, tables, diagrams etc. Academic task 2 is essay writing and students have to write a minimum 250 words. Academic task 2 and general task 2 are the same.
Speaking :
The IELTS speaking module takes only 11-15 minutes and this module is divided into three parts. In this module, a face-to-face interview is taken with test takers. It is quite important for students to carry an original passport and a colour copy of the passport when they go for an exam. First of all, a greeting for 1-2 is conducted in which the examiner asks for the name and nickname and checks identification of students. After greeting, part1 is conducted, in which basic questions like home, study, work, hometown, food, TV, newspaper, computer, games, commute, picnic, list, number etc are asked. Having taken part 1, the examiner moves to part 2 in which topic is given and some sub questions are also given. Students get 1 minute to prepare and make note and they have to speak for 2 minutes. In part 3, open questions related to part 2 are asked and in this part students have to speak a bit more, explain the point and provide some relevant examples if possible.
